Would the location on the sensor on my Custom Cold-Air Intake matter? I did a little custom work to mine..shaved it down so that the "nipple" sticks out more..and also the new location is also lower. Oh, and my question: Where I have my sensor going in is..into a chrome tube sticking out like 1/2"..but I know that the sensor doesnt go past it once it's mounted...would "direct" air flow going to that sensor be better? Would there be ANY difference from where I have it now and to a direct air flow setup? Please advise..looking for a reason....to what you ask..ummm....MORE HP..hehe

Direct Air flow would be better. This would give a more accurate reading.

Removing the protective plastic guards around it would not "hurt" it per se...but their removal may CAUSE the IAT to become harmed.

The IAT does NOT have to be any set distance from the MAF...it just must be BEFORE the MAF in the air flow stream.

So I might see a little gain.....in hp? I mean like 1HP or less...i wasnt thinking it would be like a 3-5HP increase..but im sure it would be a little maybe even noticable..but I doubt it..im gonna move it tommorow. Now how do I get a chemical hardened (jb weld type) material off? That how the sensor is staying in the "nipple".
