Get a set of socket extenders and a U-joint. Some of those on the underside of the IM are a pain to get to.
A replacement IM gasket might be in order, mine was pretty caked when I put on my machined one (still using the old one, but I plan on fixing that this summer).
Check out http://www.hmaservice.com/webtech/ for instructions and pictures of the IM and fuel rail removal, inspection, etc.
good luck,
ac
edit: also, there are two really stubborn bolts on the support bracket to the IM. It would help to have an impact wrench, long torque wrench, cheater bar, or extremely strong help. I did this in my pre-air-tools days and ended up whacking a crescent wrench with a rubber mallet to get them to break free. Man what a pain. Ropeman's IM had the same problem, so I think Hyundai just puts those on tight universally.

The "easy" solution for the bolts holding the intake manifold brace to the intake manifold is to cheat and remove the 2 bolts that hold the brace to the block. Those are very easy to get to from under the car. The 2 bolts that hold the brace to the IM are in a really awkward spot, but they are easy to remove if you take off the IM and brace as one unit. If nothing else, just loosening those bolts holding the brace to the block makes IM removal/install much easier.
You can get the fuel rail out without taking the IM off if you really want to. Just take the injectors off the fuel rail, and remove them first, then take the fuel rail out

your dealership should have some for about $20. Don't know how that translates to kiwi money tongue.gif wink
I don't know of any parts stores in the US that carry them, only the dealerships.
good luck, and if you hit any snags, feel free to e-mail me. I've done this removal/reinstall three times now (on two different cars).

just 1 question about this, I read the HMA service guide for injector removal, but it is still unclear to me how the injectors fit in to the intake manifold? Do they thread in or not?

injectors aren't treaded in, on the fuel rail they 're holding with a metal clip but sometimes can be hard to get out of the rai litself because the o'ring kinda of stick in the rail
on the intake manifold they only use a rubber grommet to seal both surface, that one rarely stick
