Idle Adjustment Screw
I feel like a freakin' newb asking this but...I've owned my Tib 6 years now and never once seen an idle adjustment screw on the TB. But I keep seeing posts referring to it. Every other car I own or have worked on has an idle adjustment screw in plain view. But yet again, I've never seen one on the Tib TB. I read about 1281902801 posts that mention it or refer to it, but for the life of me I've yet to find an actual location or picture of it. happysad.gif
Can someone make me feeling even more retarded by telling me exactly where this thing is supposed to be or showing me a pic?
One of the first mods I did was a bored out 58mm stock TB. I'm starting to wonder if the screw has been missing all this time.

Look closer.
The OEM TB has the screw hidden inside a black metal cup. If you look at your throttle cable rotor, you'll see what makes it stop when you let go.

Bet you do.
Go out and look at your TB. The throttle rotor only turns one way.
Turn it by hand.
Then look down and see what it is that it hits against when you let go.

It's right above the opening in this picture, just below the bottom part of the rotor.

You can also use the throttle cable adjustment to adjust it as shown above.
EDIT

See where it is in that pic? Right next to the throttle rotor? Same place on yours.

On some of them you have to remove the little white thing and then there's a screw^^
And then on some of them there's the white thing but it has a prong sticking off of it (it's actually not a prong, it's a damn replica of a male wire connector but I don't know what goes there??) .. I can't seem to figure out how to adjust the idle on those kind.

The one with the wire on it is a idle stepdown switch, saw it on HMA awhile back.
Youa re right, I forgot the OEM TB has that little white paper blot sitting over the screw.

Idle stepdown switch?
What's that do?
Why's it only on some TB's?
And how do you adjust the idle on those TB's?
not trying to hijack but I posted a thread not too long ago about TB's/problems I was having and none of those questions were answered..

I'm almost CERTAIN I don't have that screw. I have an empty hole right there if I'm not mistaken. I've been using the throttle cable to adjust the idle with decent results but it's just never been quite "right."
If you remember way back in the day there was an FXtreme member in Canada who bored out the stock TB's for us. He must have removed the screw and forgot to put it back in. happysad.gif

zoned...you were having the same problems with both TBs though right? And I don't think anything you could "adjust" would cause your car to do what it's doing. You really need to check for air leaks around the IM/TB area using some starter fluid or intake cleaner.

If it's gone bro, you need to replace it.
Still have your stock TB sitting around anywhere? Or just get a screw with a flat end and put it in it's place with a set nut.
