Ok, so according to wikipedia the car has two different motors one of which has forged connecting rods the other doesnt list anything special. So I know this has probably covered 100000000 times. But I looked and looked typed everything I could think of in the search bar and found that some guy in europe wants a supra instead of the tib.... other than that. I couldnt find anything for it.

Im trying to find out if I just rebuilt the motor being that its rolling on 91k miles if I should rebuild with stock parts or order the cast pistons and rods off of K-spec. I was also wondering wether or not the engine is open or closed deck. Any information would be nice. So if someone knows please either point me in the direction I need to be going.

Please dont send me to the page for the Q. A. it doesnt tell me anything other than that I have the beta style motor and that there are multipul motors ranging from the 1.6l that we dont get to the 1.8 and 2.0's that we do have. So if someone could tell me that the g4gf is a motor we dont get or we got and dont know about it would be nice to know. Thank you.

The G4GF (also called the 2.0 D) is the 2.0L (1975cc) version. It shares the larger 82mm bore of the 1.8 but is stroked to 93.5 mm. Output is 136 hp (102 kW) at 6000 RPM with 132 ft.lbf (183 Nm) of torque at 4500 RPM. It has a cast iron engine block and aluminum DOHC cylinder heads. It uses MFI fuel injection, has 4 valves per cylinder and features forged steel connecting rods. The latest version of the 2.0L Beta engine (G4GC) features CVVT, which only in intake side, a first for Hyundai/Kia.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ thats what I found on wikipedia.....

Maybe someone would be interested in looking into why if you look up hyundai motors on wikipedia why it lists the g4gf under the beta motors and not the g4cp as the 2.0l

Your point? Wiki can be edited by anyone. I'll edit it to say that it comes stock with a trampoline in the muffler.

http://www.koreacarpart.com/Engine_hyundai.html

Some good info on Hyundai Engines here.

I'm not being a dick, but honestly, you can trust the info you get from other sites only so much. Do some searching, you'll find official info listed around, but some of us have been doing this for awhile, we may know some answers.

BTW, RDTiburon may only be 4 years old, but the Koreans have been tuning these engines for what, 10 years now? They know what they have too.

List your engine data links here.

Oh, and the last thing, ordering from Kspec aint' the greatest of ideas these days. They've gone over a month without responding to their forums, and are having some large problems.

I think I figured it out, and if you look at the codes...

G4GF = MAF
G4GC = CVVT
G4CP = MAP

Just what I can see from where they are and what's available. If you look at the first link I put up, that's a Korea based site, and has only the Korean based engines.
