If you think about it, wouldnt it be easier to hydrolock an engine with an SRI versus a CAI? With a CAI, water has to travel up longer tubes where it could evaporate before it hits the engine. With an SRI, if a splash of water came up under the filter...the tubing is really short and less distance for water to travel to the engine.

 

I think the logic behind it is that water is never going to be near an SRI. With CAI behind your headlight and ~12" off the ground, you hit a deep puddle and a large wave encompases the filter. With a SRI, water has to spash past all the ground covers, the various pipes and hoses and then finally encompas the filter which is generally 3' off the ground.....not gooing to happen unless you try to ford a river....

 

^^ what he said. I don't think water would evaporate in the time it takes to travel ~3 feet from your cai to your engine.
