It's an air filter.

For the most part, I find they all perform more or less the same. Just beware of filters that have the top cap glued on rather than crimped on. The glue has a tendance to weaken over time and the top falls off.

See that hole in the center of the filter?

Well, on some there isn't a hole there, it's a cap. If it's got that cap, turn the filter around and look on the inside. See if it's spot welded or crimped on. If not. Don't get it.

correction, .. chormed cap hold... painted cap don't hold (glue seams to be ok but paint doesn't "stick" to the metal
Gte a real K&N cheaper and safer in the long run...

Not all the glued chrome ones hold iether my original piper cross cap fell of and that was Just a plain glued chrome cap. Crimped for me from now on.

yeah, they're basically all the same, except for ones that have a foam filter element. from my experience, they don't perform as well.
