Default How to paint a chrome muffler flat black???

I have a chrome muffler and I want to paint it flat black, the chrome is almost new, I need the new paint to stick. How do I remove or paint on top of the chrome with high heat paint?

I just used a green scrubby pad to scuff mine up. Then I sprayed with high temp paint and drove for 2 hours to heat it up. it's stayed on since then.
