Hello, Im about to start doing my Project car with my Hyundai Tiburon I already bought a 2.0cc G4GF engine for 400Euros (im form spain so everithing here is really expensive and I import everything).

The thing the tibby before, was a 1.6cc and i bought the 2.0cc and im going to try to get 350hp adding a turbo and all the pieces needed for the process.

But my biggest doubt is if my manual 5speed 1.6cc transmission/tranny can handle that amout of torque (lbft)...? or even better does someone know actually how much it can actually handle?

But let's say I have to think about changing my gearbox/tranny and what not... is there any brand that makes "performance" tranny's to handle more lb/ft?

Thanks,

Eddy

If you want to spend more than the car is worth, you can have a custom transaxle made up. Otherwise, drive the stock transmission until it gives out. Unless you drive like a madman, my impression is that the stock gears will hold that amount of power.

Weakest is 5th gear. You can get the geras cryotreated or something similar to make them stronger. Look into getting a different differential also. (Quaife)

Once when I wasn't thinking about turbos and all this world I came in and saw it... the I tried to find it when i registred but didn't find nothing. (refering to the list)

Yes I am aware of what im doing. For now... I do have to admit I did fall in that "trap" of buying a kit from eBay. Yes i did buy a kit from eBay. But anyhow the main pieces, the important ones, im gettig them real good quality... top of the top.

Right now my engine is in the mechanic opened in half waiting for Pauter center-to-center rods, wiseco pistons, ferrea valves, ferrea valve springs, bushings, oil pump, water pump, fuel walbro255, practically everithing.
the turbo will be a Garrett GT28RS the known: Potato because of its compresion map...

Either way to make my self through this really experienced forum I will definitly buythat book and open a topic with my process.

Thanks.
