Most imports take 4 quarts. If I were you I would just call a dealer. They can tell you exactly how much it needs.

You should lighten up a little Vince.

Next time you are at the dealership, ask for a service manual. wink

I put 4 1/2 quarts. Should I be alright? Don't want to have too much now. I also changed my girls 2001 Civics Oil today too, her manual called for 3.7 quarts. So I shouldn't be too off, guess I'll call the dealer tomorra!

That was from memory. I'll look in my manual if need be but here's a couple of rules of thumb

If it says you need less than a quart to top off the engine (3.7, 4.5 etc) then the rest of the quart put in won't hurt anything. Especially if your engine burns oil.

most engine manufacturers call for an extra quart when replacing the filter along with the oil, because the filter holds oil that won't drain out the bottom of the pan. That is, you might need to put in a gallon if you just change your oil, but + a filter and you need 5 quarts.
