Default How to get colder air from your aftermarket Intake

This is a idea that I get a couple of weeks ago. Since I install an air filter to my car I see that after I use the car for a long ride and later I open the hood to feel that the filter feels very hot and the little pieces of metal (www.spiralmax.com) that are inside the intake hose are hot too. This hot air make my car slower than with the stock air filter. I decide to move the filter to colder spot below the battery but the filter still receiving hot air from the exhaust system. Then I find big room inside a hole right side of the battery, I make it larger and put the filter inside it. When I test the car I can not believe how faster feels my car. I get the car to a test in the quarter-mile and make 15.82, 0.50 (16.32)faster that the last time. The heat is the worst enemy of an engine and if you can do the same thing that I do you will feel the difference.

So it's located in your fender wall correct? Behind where the fog lights are.
That is the MOST effective place for it. Nice and cool air. I had to move from there bacl to near the tranny temp. and i noticed a great power loss. But now it's back where it belongs.

Noel...just make sure you have your "spiralmax" installed AFTER the MAF sensor. It will do no good in front of it.

Two? Damn! Every time one of those things gets dyno tested, by a magazine or TV show...it ends up showing no power.

But if you like it...go with it, it doesn't hurt anything.

What's that blue thing covering your filter under the battery? So you took a CAI from a Civic Si, and fabricated it to fit your Tib? Did all the plugs fit it, or did you have to make new ones?

Looks really good!

that is 90 degree pcv pipe that the air filter conects to under the fender well.

correct on civic SI and all i had to do was cut out uneeded sections to get the MAFS in
Drill three hole one for pvc hose one for idle controll valve and the other for nitrous.
