So yes I know this is a stupid question. And every search I have done has outdated links.

I just need to know how to fill / top off my trans so that I don't damage it by driving on low fluid.

auto or manual?

automatics require SP-III ATF from Hyundai. I wouldn't recommend using anything else as it could really mess up the internals.

also --- why would you be low? you shouldn't be "burning" or losing transmission fluid

Its a manual. Should have put that down, stupid me. I am putting stock suspension back on my car and the coilover pulled the half shaft out a bit. Leaked some fluid but I just want to fill it back up before I drive it again. Didn't damage the seal around the half shaft or anything just need to put fluid back in.

The bolt to which tib_500 is pointing is located on the "front" (toward the bumper) side of the transaxle, about halfway up the case.
