So i was doing some searching and i can't seem to find anyone with the hks rear section exhaust its just the muffler and over the axel part but i can't find anyone else with it or find if its discontinued or for sale still anywhere.

Just kind of an off topic ? about how rare the part is if at all since most people where going with MBRP and other full catbacks at teh time i purchased it. I need to clean mine up but thats all.

Almost non existant sales for RD Tiburon led HKS to pull this part years ago. MBRP followed suit about 4 years ago as well. We just don't get any love wink1.gif

Actually, a part with almost no point just won't sell well.

WTF would you just want to replace your muffler and 3 feet of pipe for almost $400?

MBRP has stopped making most of the exhausts they used to make.

for the price of that rear section you could add a little more and get Megan racing from KFX performance, hi flow cat (ebay), cherry bomb resonator (local parts store), and cheap ebay n1 style muffler and find a shop to do pipping and under axle...

you will be happy trust me and better them paying for just a name

Yeah it was pretty expensive at the time but it has held up real well and always sounded great along with custom made cat back and sr headers. I have a different take on name brand products but don't want to get into bs with people who buy generic over high end. I believe that the name does have alot to do with the quality of the product thus the reason i purchased it at the time and would purchase an apexi, hks, or greddy again over some ebay knockoff.

I thought there would be a handfull of people that have them but so far only 2 inculding myself. Interesting

dont get me wrong about HKS, Apexi, etc great companies...

im just saying 300-400 just for a muffler that bolts on to the restrictive stock piping...IMO not worth it

and yes I have name brand parts in my tib...but some things are way overprice and the cheaper option does the same thing

no there is no BS about what you think or me...its just opinions...everyone has or had them, just like tighty whites

if people can't take the heat of an conversation, they need to stay out the kitchen (my quote of the day)

i was probably the first person to have that exhaust, i bought it when it first came out, it was around $400ish. i fvcken loved the exhaust, on just the rear-section with stock piping you couldn't here the exhaust. it was quiet and keeps a stockish look from the back. i never got pulled over with it and was one of the nicest sounding cars in my city, not to mention the only one with a real Japanese exhaust. 3 months ago it busted after 4 years of abuse, it was my fault. HKS released last year of all the exhausts they stopped making and the tib's was one of them. I've been trying to look for it but can't find it any more.

That's one car part i don't regret buying, it was worth every penny. oh yeah, the set up i had where it had the nicest sound was obx headers w/ test pipe, KRD(before they turned to K.O.R.E.) mid-section, and HKS rear-section.

Pics

this is the exhaust i bought from ebay to use until i make up my mind on what exhaust i want.

here's some clips with the exhaust sound.

i was trying to look for the pics of the exhaust after it was busted but i can't find it. what pissed me off was i had my buddy weld it for me and he didn't put it somewhere safe and his mom trashed it. damnit.gif damnit.gif
