I don't know about oversized pistons, I know you can't get over 82,5mm because you would weaken the block too much (Random put some info about this in the old HyundaiAftermarket bakc in the days...) but I seem to remember you could do it with 82,5mm

What I don't remember is if Hyundai sells OEM oversized pistons (like when you buy bearings 0.10+, 0.20+, etc) if it does, that is the way to go; if it does not, I would stay with OEM pistons. Why? Because having oversized pistons made would be expensive, and OEM pistons are dirt cheap from kspec, you could get them for around £100 to your door from SFR or kspec; add rings and for around £180 you have a full set, not many automakers have those prices for a piston set.

I hope it helps...

A cracked piston would definitely cause those symptoms, but that can't be cam related unless you floated a valve by over revving the engine.

I would update the information on that ebay listing to notify the potential buyers of the problem.

*there's a beast in the engine bay*

.... oops. Forgot to mention that it's been shot and maimed in the one leg lmao.gif

lmao.gif ^^ I have decided to keep the three legged beast!!

I have found 83mm pistons from Wiseco, they are 0.04 overbore I think I am going to get these ones.

I am also considering putting the stock cams back in as these ones are a real ball ache!!
