are you able to use a pair of vise-grips to spin it out? possibly an easy out tool, or left handed drill bit (spins opposite of other drill bits to help remiove bolts) ?

Put it this way, I was torquing the cam journal bolt down. I was using a monster torque wrench. I rented it from work, the neglected to tell me it started at 40 foot pounds, so I ended up putting 49ft/lb of torque on one. I ended up shearing a bolt off in the block. mad.gif . so It looked like this

It got all messed up... I ended up taking a pick type thing, and a hammer to it. I started hitting the pick on the side, so it turned like 1/16 of a turn each time. I got it out slowly though. What even better is I call Hyundai to see if they had a cam journal bolt, the guy from parts says "A cam what?". I just said "I'm coming up there" after he told me they don't carry them. I go up there, hand him the bolt, he walks in the back and gives me an identical one, but he gave me it for free, so that's cool. Good news though! Only 290 more miles to break it in!! I've already driven 10!!! owned.gif

I know I'm supposed to do the break in period, but does the 1.8l cam really make that much of a difference? What are the main gains? My intake doesn't seem to have as much suction as of right now, and my car seems sluggish. Does this happen until the ECU gets used to it? I bought the cam BRAND NEW from REDZ... I installed it, just one little problem, but I fixed that. Everything is lined up right, I'm doing an oil change tomorrow hopefully. But are these gains noticeable? Is it more on higher or lower RPM's, anyone know the horse gains? I'm so confused!! I just installed this cam, and I have no clue how it helps me (what does this smaller cam do?), or how much it helps me!

For one it isnt a smaller cam.it is actually slightly bigger. not much maybe 5 degrees or so i dont remember. Gains will be felt near to the top end i believe.

Did you not reset the ECU? RESET THE ECU!
