I was planning on wrapping my intake this weekend to help cool the air down. I was wondering how long the wrap will last on the intake? Should I get some of that spray to put on it or will it be alright without it?

I've tried heat wraping an intake and it did lower the IAT temp by 10 degrees celcuis. But it didn't look pretty so I took it off.

 

Carparts.com has this it's a little expensive but nice

 

I'm not too worried about it looking pretty. I was just looking for some extra gains. I've got the AOS intake and I'm planning on making some sort of extension for it to go into the fenderwell. Just gotta wait for my parts to get in that I ordered.

One other question on the wrap. I read somewhere that you're supposed to wet the wrap before you put it on. The DEI wrap that I got doesn't say anything about that in the instructions, so should I just wrap it as it is?

 

If you were to heatwrap the portion of the CAI that is in the engine bay, would you notice any gains?

 

that's actually what they are talking about. and there is noticeable gains.

 

Aah, what about those Weapon-R Cold Air boxes, couldnt you just run your CAI through one of those and have the same effect of a heatwrap for a lower price?

 

brice what is the price of that box? you can but regular heat wrap for 30usd or get the dei air tube rap for like 65usd

 

Its around $65 so I guess it all comes down to whatever you think looks better under your hood or not
