i just got my header for my 2000 kia sephia and i have a question?conected to the stock header is the pre cat with a sensor hooked up to it does the new header bolt right onto the pre cat or will i have to get rid of the pre cat?if so what am i supposed to do with the sensor?
there is another sensor screwed into the exaust tubbing right after the pre cat what do i do with this one too?do you think a tuner shop would know what to do about the sensors?

your installer will have to drill two holes into your new header, and weld 2 "bungs" into it..

that is where the sensors will screw back into your new header.. if you do not put them back in, you will get check engine lights and your car will not run right...

there is a product called "o2 simulators" that you can use to bypass your o2 sensors, they sell for $100 a pair of two (look for lt1 o2 sims on www.summitracing.com or jegs.com)

i do not recommend bypassing the o2 sensors, just have them re-mounted to your new headers.

The sensors are O2 sensors used to mesure emissions and for the ECU to figure out if you are rich or lean. Heres what needs to be done. If the first cat is part of your stock headers then it will have to be replaced. One O2 sensor needs to be mounted in your headers (weld a bung to it so you can attach it) the 2nd O2 sensor mounts after the first cat. If the ECU does not see a difrence between the two O2 sensor readings it will throw a CEL at you.
