I believe I have found a way to fix the CEL you get with a header. If you search the internet you will find it really easy. All it takes it a package of spark plug non-foulers and some drill bits. These can be bought at any autoparts store. On one of the non foulers drill it out with 1/2" drill bit. Start small and work your way up, its easier. After that screw the two non foulers together with the undrilled one on the bottom. Then the o2 sensor goes on the very top. This way you dont have to have a cat, but I recommend one anyways so we can all breathe a lil easier. If you have the OBX/SSA header, it screws into the hole right behind the tranny(stock location) and there is no need for extending anything. I have gone about 150 miles without a CEL, and usually they come on within 50 mi. If yall need pics I can get some, or just search "Mechanical O2 Simulator" on the internet. Yes they actually do work. You can either buy one off of ebay for like $13 or make one for less then $5. I will update my milage and and if my CEL is on every once and while to see how long this actually works.

My euro-tuner buddies told me to do this a while back... I just haven't crawled under my car in a while to try it. Glad to see it put into effect on a tib. smile.gif good job!

when u buy a CEL fixer off ebay, all it is are spark plug non-foulers. i thought that was basic knowledge. search around on ebay, any of the ones on there that are not electric, are these....
pre-warning, they dont allways work. i have a set on my car, never helped at all, still have the code coming up, i still left them on cause whats the use of removing them, either way i get the code.

what do these things look like? eh, just move that o2 behind the cat. thats the proper fix.
when u buy a header, you loose the cat, so how would u go about that? at least in the newer years

Well technically there IS another cat, on most tibs at least. The Headers/Downpipe combo cut out the first cat, but the second one is still there.
The first o2 sensor is to get a "BEFORE CAT" reading, the second one is to verify your cat is working.
That's it. Put them in the right places, most of your CEL's are GONE.

but he never mentioned that, hence why i asked. the way he explained it there was another cat allready there somewhere.
just like redz said, the second cat. I assume rd1's have them.... I know my rd2 does, and you guys all have rd2's. For CA emmissions I think all vehicles have two cats now.
