RED RED easy on the newbies, let me play with them first

The Elantra GT/2001 cam has a little more lift than the 1.8 cm, and a touch more duration. The 1.8 cam gives a 2-4 hp increase depending on application and the GT cam ( I'm guessing ) gives 4-5 hp but mostly at higher rpm. You really won't see to much of a difference between the 2 but on the track it might make a differnce of, say .1 at best in the et ( I'm theorizing here ) Now the GT cam has been said to make the idle rougher, the 1.8 cam doesn't in most cases etc etc etc. Now Search again for GT cm, 1.8 cam, 2001 elantra cam there's tons of stuff on it already.

Yes you can and it will give you results. We've done it to a '97 Elantra here in Vegas.

the question could be answered by YOU if you really did some good searching...

old 2.0 cam < 1.8 cam < GT cam. This should be easily seen.

IF you can swap the 1.8 for the old 2.0, AND you can swap the new 2.0lantra for the old 2.0, THEN we can INFER...

You can swap the new lantra cam for the 1.8 cam and see similar gains to swapping the 1.8 cam into an old 2.0 head.

You really could have figured that out if you had done enough thinking after a half-decent search. That is why you got flamed.
