exactly how it sounds my tranny grinds going into second if i hold first past like 3k

what could it be? any ideas on how to fix it?

i installed a new clutch master and it grinds less but its still there

Oh shit, my car does the exact same thing..it's fine during normal driving and when you give it gas, it grinds. I hope this isn't synchronizer problems.

i donno cuz this tranny seriously has only like 6k on it i bought it with 4,254 miles (or close to that) verified through carfax

The more I talk to ppl, the more I find that 2nd gear is a problem in our boxes (mine too). I put some "Nulon G70" gearbox treatment in mine which helped heaps. The only time mine gives any trouble now is when she's dead cold (if I don't let her warm up enough).

So you would add this nulon by changing the transmissions fluid??

I added it when I changed my box oil but you can just add it to your box & existing oil if it's not due for a change.

i wonder if i remove that valve spring and plate would the grinding go away

and is it true that this can happen if you have bad brake fluid? i was reading something like that somewhere

I have the return valve removed from me clutch cylinder (which lets the fluid exit the cylinder faster & thus the clutch engages quicker smile.gif ) but I don't think it makes any diff to the second gear prob though 02.gif . Change the fluid if you think it needs it, but again I don't think it fix the prob 02.gif .
