So I got my tranny today so the first thing I noticed is that the shift linkage looks different. Second thing is that the rubber boot around it is dry rotted to hell... Is there anyway I can put the one from my old tranny on this one?!? How do I even take it off? It looks to me that this thing has been sitting for a while. Superbee said there was 69k on it.

bump.. anyone know why this tranny has a different shift linkage then my other one?

To remove dust cover/ boot you have to split the case.

I was told that you can pull that shift linkage right off (the top medal thing). Am I right or am I wrong? If I can pull that off I'm putting the one from my old tranny in there. Thats what superbee told me to do. If I had to take that tranny apart id kill myself.

edit: ok i tried pulling it off and I couldnt... it looks like there pins in it so it cant move....i dont know.

You have to open up your tranny. You can't just pull it out.

yes thats exactly what we are saying. You must open the transmission up. There is no magical way of doing it.

That video thats linked is probably the best how to ever seen. if you cna follow directions and match pictures of what your doing its all cake!
