well it time to swap gear oil again. I'm running redline right now, and well don't notice much of a difference between that and the old burnt oil that came out. can anyone recomend a good gear oil ?

I am currently running Pennzoils Synchromesh GL-4.....not sure what gear oil your car calls for, but I noticed a huge difference in how my gears shift. It is tons smoother then when it had just the ole' Hyundai GL-4.........Pennzoil also makes synthetic gear oils in various weights....just my .02

As long as it's safe for yellow metals it should be okay. I'm assuming it is, since it's GL-4 rated, not GL-5. I've heard that's good stuff.

I'm running a multirated GL-3/4/5 currently, but plan to switch to Royal Purple the next time I change.

i use redline right now and i love it shift smoothly and back when i had the Accent.... my syncro 2 and 3 were really bad couldn't shift hard at higher then like 4500rpm i put redline mt-90 and i could change gear fast at 6750rpm again was really nice wink1.gif

but if you really want to try something esle there is motul i'd try it and some stang people told me that BG made the best one but it doesn't come cheap http://www.bgprod.com/products/driveline.html cool.gif

Don't listen to anybody and use Pennzoil, mobil 1 crap.

The two oils that you should only use are Redline MT-90 or Amsoil GL-4 MTG Synthetic. I regret not putting this in earlier.

i went with royal purple, no regrets from it, smoother shifts and in winter the shifter never feels stiff, with the reguler stuff for the first few seconds till you went through the gears once the shifter felt really hard to push as if you were pushing it through thick heavy syrup,

amsoil, heard good stuff about the engine oil (even though i personally wouldnt never trust anything in my engine for that long) there gear oil, never heard anyone use it around here yet, or at least who ive talked to

100% Agree with Korean_Redneck. I use Amsoil and am quite happy. Good luck!

Wow, some serious brand loyalty in this thread.

I've posted this link before, but it's interesting. And read this if you are considering adding lucas stabilizer to your gear oil.

Joe, once you decide rotan can get you a better price than you ordering it online or from a store.
