Default A few exhaust questions.

A few questions for you all, these questions are for a 2001 Tiburon.

What is the best header for street application/NA engine (Am I right by the saying the 4-2-1 SR header)?

Is there an actual bolt-on free flow cat for the Tiburon (if univerisal, whats the best and why)?

Is the mid-pipe from SR the only bolt-on avaliable, and what size diameter is it (I am assumming its mandrel bent and stainless steel, and what are the other options)?

Thats it for now, thanks in advance.

ok here we go

4-2-1 headers are for autotragics
4-1 are for 5 speeds

free flow cat??? Just take out your cat and clean it out,.... but dont kill the atmosphere,...
get a high flow cat. Best around is CARSOUND. you can probably find them on ebay.

As far as piping,... if you have an auto go with a 2.25 in
if you have a manual go with a 2.5

Hve sells headers as well as shark racing.
I currently have the HVE headers,... they are great.

Ok, whats the differance from the SR and the HDK headers, what one is better? (4-1)

As far as a free-flow cat, I wanted to know if they actually made a bolt-on? (If I have to use a universial one, I am getting Radom Tech's universial cat).

For the mid-pipe, what size diameter pipe is the one from HDK? (Pictured below)

Also, what size pipe diameter is the header where it meets the cat?

I have about 50% of my questions answered, bear with me

I don't know of anyone that purchased the HDK headers or mid-pipe, so I can't give you any answers on their products. You can try to e-mail them, but they are not the best at returning e-mails, the best bet would be to try to call them.

No-one makes a "bolt in replacement" cat for the tiburon that I know of, and even if they did, it would not fit a "custom" exhaust that you would build with Any headers and midpipe/combo. Hyundai has changed the exhaust system on the tibbies several times over the years, so not all companies cat backs fit all tibbies.

Ok, finalized choice of cat is the Random.
Finalized header choice is the HVE ceramic coated header (whats the output diameter on the HVE?)

I would perfer a bolt-on mid pipe, and the HDK looks great, but I only want it if its 2.5" diameter. I would get the HVE catback, but I plan on running the stock muffler with the Cuda muffler tip, I cant stand the sound of an import exhaust, I'll sacrifice a few HP than a headache everyday.

I'll try to find out the size, but would appreciate it if you could give me a hand......Thanks.

hve headers and a full exhaust,... will not sound like the average ricer exhaust. You will get a deep tone. If you dont do the whole exhaust, you wont get that much of a benefit from the headers.
i suggest you get something else.
