I was wondering who was runnig the quickest 2.0L and what they have done to it so far. Looks like all the heads and stuff at RPW will fit onto the non-beta 2.0L. From what I saw on webtech the gaskets are the same part numbers between the 2001 tibby and my 2001 Elantra.
ALso for that quickest NA what is your 60ft time and 1/4 mile times. WHat size exaust are you running and with what type of header ie. 4-1 or 4-2-1.

Not sure what you mean by "non-beta"... It looks like you were referring to the Tiburon and Elantra as if they have different engines -- they do not.
From 1996 Elantra through the 2001.5 Elantra GT, and across ALL YEARS of the Tiburon, they have shared the exact same 4-cylinder powertrain. Both get the BETA 2.0L (or 1.8L in older years), there only differences are generational changes in the BETA itself. Newer BETA's have different heads, different valvetrains, different rods, different flywheel mating surfaces on the crank, different ECU's.
These changes are, for the most part, interchangeable. An internal part that bolts on to a 1996 Elantra 2.0L BETA will 99.999% of the time bolt into a 2001.5 ElantraGT 2.0L BETA block.
Now if you were truly talking about a BETA 1.6L head bolting onto an ALPHA 1.6L block, it will never happen. But otherwise, any internal part you order for a BETA 2.0L engine from RPW will fit into your 2.0L Elantra. The only expected difference may be the total power change -- cams in particular will suffer from this.

Oh, as for your question on "fastest 2.0L"... The best timeslip I have in my possession is a 14.812 from many months ago. If this one is deemed the fastest, I will go home and unbury it and post the specifics.

Yup. For internals, Tibby stuff will bolt right into your Elantra because they're the same engine/transmission.
Exterior parts (headers, intakes) sometimes don't always fit because of the different mounting positions / clearances in the two platforms.

Red, why do you say 2001.5 Elantra? I thought 2002 Elantra had the same engine as well.
