Default exhaust ?

I have a universal ractive muffler. I wanted to know if i add 4-1 headers, hi flow cat and upgrade my pipes to 2.5 inches would i get a better sound out of my muffler.
F.Y.I: I have a 96 Elantra auto.

I believe so, I remember that I had changed my muffler and tip, from the stock to a 5" Tip with direct air muffler, awesome noise, but i still had the stock catback, and all i had done was had it replaced for a 3" catback, now its just unbelievable.

That would work, but to get the better sound, just go to an exhaust shop and have them remove your stock resonators. They should be able to remove them and weld in straight pipes for about $60.

Thanx for the help i'm going to call the muffler shop and have that darn resenator removed i'll let you know how it turns out.

i go the resenators removed and the car sounds awsome. The shop that i went to charged me 30. thanx for the advise..
