Here you go.
One of the studs broke off from the salvage I was pulling out. It's exactly like a fishtank filter. Exactly the same thing except instead of fish gunk it's gas gunk.

just a hacksaw to the bottom. on the other side there is a second grid and filter with a tube for moisture. it's a pretty simple thing.
the white cotton filters were as new as bedsheet from the store, untouched from time of assembly! this one is from a '96, and it wasn't clogged at all. it is pressurized so there are no openings to it.
they don't even show this on the hyundai diagrams. poor thing i feel like Hannibal Lecter...

Can you analyze it's operation from the dis assembly?
Is there a specific flow pattern? What are the various components for? Those springs push against the cotton?

I know this threat is old. But do you think it would be possible to replace the charcoal without cutting it open. Also what hyundai use the same canister as a rd2. I am having trouble finding a rd2 at my local yard.

Well as you all know I being having trouble with my gas tank not filling up because the canister must be clogged up. I already replaced the lines and the purge control valve my car has 105000 so the only thing I can think of is that the charcoal has become solid and gunk up. Or I need to replace the actual evap tank but I do not wan tto spend $90 on a new one
