Default Engine Weight

I'm about to get my hands on another Beta Engine, so I'm going to buy and engine stand. Just needed to know how much I can expect the guy to way so I can buy an engine stand that can hold it. Thanks in advance.

Northern Hydraulics and Harbor Freight tools both sell "cheap" engine stands for about $60. They hold up to 750 lbs, which is MUCH less that the beta motor.

To give you and idea, I can lift a beta full of oil and antifreeze myself. I can't lift it or move it FAR, but I can lift it the 5" up onto the engine dolly I borrowed.

I would guestimate 200 lbs full of fluids, maybe 250 MAX.

You need to do lifting exercise wink.gif

By the way, Random do you know any good racing track (near Santa Barbara would be great... but LA is fine, as long as it is close to Santa Barbara) where I can spend my nice weekend racing against other guys (and get quarter mile time)?

There is a track in bakersfield, and one in Palmdale, but I don't know of any legal tracks in the SB/Ventra area. Sorry.

Are you saying that the engine stand can hold 750 lbs, which is less than what the Beta weighs? Or are you saying that the stand can hold 750 lbs, of which the Beta weighs much less?

Dude, if you can lift and carry 750+ lbs... eek.gif

I think he is saying the stand can support up to 750lbs. The beta motor weighs much less than 750lbs.
