Default engine painting

dunno if you guys read the other thread or not (YES, the one i mis-placed. wink ), but i just painted my spark plug cover.. well, it looks pretty damn good (i'll post pics tomorrow), and i want to do my valve covers now..

Is this something i can do on my own? or would i need to get this done professionally? i was reading one of random's posts and i saw him mention something about a broken seal in the valve cover or something of that nature..

just want to check before i go and mess things up.. lol

thanks in advance.

There's no harm in painting this part on your own, just remember to chemically clean it(degreaser, running water and compressed air to dry)and have a new valve cover gasket handy for the reinstall. You can have a smoother finish if you sand the cover down before painting. Remember to use a high-temperature specefied paint and appropriate base.

Good luck!
