my engine is overheating after replacing the water pump , replacing coolant hoses, refilling the radiator fluid (through the radiator cap) resevoir is good. the coolant temperature idles fine, until the gas pedal is depressed then it rises all the way to red line, makes no attempt to circulate coolant
tried: draining a little radiator fluid from the petcock at the bottom of the radiator , wiggled coolant temp sensor , checked water pump for leaks which arent there.
suggestions guys? im in a tough spot here
could this be from not enough radiator fluid? after emptying what was in the water pump line, and all the other hoses (when replacing them) it was filled with about half of one of the big gallon antifreeze/coolant containers available about everywhere

also check your oil, my car was overheating due to old/low oil...just an idea, make sure you have no coolant leaks, and top it off if its low

Thermostat might be in wrong....happened to my friend.. long story.
IF you have air in the system you have to "burp" it.
Run it witht he cap off wait for air bubbles to come out.

I'd say thermostat. He did everything else in his system but the Thermostat. If there's a big air bubble there, it'll not open.
So...
1. burp the system.
2. Check your thermostat.

Sure. GOod job folks.
You had a large air bubble at the thermostat, so the hot fluid wasn't getting to the thermostat to heat the wax/plastic pellet to open it via the spring. Now that fluid can get there, you know your thermostat works. LOL
