Default ENGINE MODS

Was wondering which engine is easier to modify? I don't want zillions of HP but somewhere in the 200 to 250. Which between the v-6 and the I-4 is easier tomod? also of the 4cyl which is easier?
I am new kind of new to the Hyundai thing. I love them but the wife won't let me mod her car. So I want to get one for myself to play with.

The 4 cylinder is alot easier to modify due to that there is alot of performance stuff you can get off SR, Kore, HVE, etc..and it can handle more power woth stock internals.

The V6 apparently can only take 225Hp dur to weaker internals, but I'm not positive, thats what I've been hearing.

The V6 has problems at around 225-250 HP. The crank main bearing journals have a tendancy to let go.

There are "more" mods out there for the I4, however, the list of upgrades to get to 250 HP for the I4 is somewhat extensive and not cheap.

Do you mean at the wheel horse power or at the crank?

Also since it is the Bearings, Do you think anyone will be making stronger ones. I know that would be a PIA but it might give us up to 250 and not wreck the block.
Thanx

That figure is wheel HP, as it is the only way to accurately measure HP unless you want to yank the engine.

It is the journals that hold the crank and bearings in place, not the bearings themselves.

In theory, someone could have a new, stronger set made out of some stronger metal alloy, but there is no guarantee that something else might break at the same HP level if the main journals hold. For example, if the journals hold, that might transfer too much stress to the block, or to the crank itself.

Well I have a plan. BIG sigh.
Ill do the standard I/H/E and some body stuff. Kits and springs.
Then in a year or two Ill go out and buy a used 4banger (I really want to stay in the family Ya know) and make that my project car. Spend a couple years building a perfect car (well fast anyway) figure of dumping huge amounts to make a 500hp Tibby and use that only to race and for those days that are sunny and great ya know.
LOL Ill have a daily car and a race car.

I was thinking (don't all yell at once) a supra or rx-7 but I think I want to stay in the Hyundai family.

So figure Random Ill be coming at ya later with How do you do this questions.
