What was that psssssstttt noise coming from those cars in TFATF?

ya, BOV. the exhaust air got trapped and compressed between the turbo and the engine when you release the gas pedal. A BOV will release the trapped air to safe your turbo from backfiring and for faster spool up on your next step on the gas.
