Well my familys 97 elantra has got a problem. The lights were left on over night so the battie was dead, Jumped it just fine in moring. Now It wont jump at all, theres nothing when I turn the key. I am thinking either the starter or alt. The starter was replaced few months ago. Any thoughts on the problem.

Try disconnecting the battery all the way, I have had a battery so dead that jumping it with the battery in there zapped all the power coming into the car.

check all the fuses... if you jump a car wrong you can blow alot of them.... if it's not jumping at all then it's likely not the altenator as that would have nothing to do with it starting under another cars battery power

Any dash lights come on? The worst case scenario could be that the ECM could've been fried at the second attempt of jumpin' it.

I agree at checkin' all of the fuses. Including the ones underneath the hood.

EDIT: My friends Silverado had the same problem. Can you check the water levels in the battery? If so, fill them up with distilled water, then recharge the battery on a trickle charger.

Its alive. The main fuse was blowen.

it has to do with the battery being drained.
