Dynos
Here's an interesting article on Car and Driver:

Has anyone tried something like this with their Hyundai when they dynoed it? Are the ECU's in our cars that advanced?

Uhh, yeah. We always run a huge fan on the car with the hood up when we dyno. Also, when running an intercooled car, use a spray bottle with cold water. You can't simulate the effects of running outside and at speed, at least not at your local dyno shop. But, we are comparing oranges to oranges. I don't take what anyone says is their estimated flywheel or crank power, because the truth is, they don't know. Most dynos are run in a little, cramped dyno shop, where it is usally too hot with not enough air flow. Everyone plays by the same rules and we can compare the wheel numbers we do get.
Plus, it was Car and Driver, I don't expect them to tell us anything. They like to talk, but, when it comes to real technical expertise, I haven't seen much that was useful come from them.
