Default Dual exit

Will a dual exit (not a true duel exhaust) hurt performance any? I know our cars are not powerful enough to handle a true duel, but I like the looks of it. Thinking about getting it done.

weight wont really affect it much, but depending on how it is done, it could hurt the exhaust flow.. stick with single exhaust imo.

powerful enough to handle true dual exhaust?!?! wtf?

i think he meant "fake" dual exhaust ("not true") meaning the other muffler isn't really connected to the cat-back. basically, i think, he'll be running a single exhaust but will be having the look of a dual muffler car.

imho, it's a no for me.

sorry, i misunderstood. i meant "no" as in "no, i wouldn't recommend that you install it". an answer to an unasked question

it wont hurt performance, but it might hurt your ears... meaning you may not like the sound that a single in, dual out muffler will give you. turbo dodge neons aka srt4s have single in, dual out stock mufflers... but like turbosocks said, if not done right, it could create bad backpressure problems in turn hurting performance.

are we having a duel?

i assumed we were talking about exhaust o.O haha..

srt-4s stock and aftermarket dual systems are set up symmetrical, so you don't 'hurt' performance. you can do the same with the tib, but most people probably do something with the muffler in the rear, which the bends WILL hurt.

dude true duals hurt performance at the best of times. iirc they allow the cylinder banks to make differing amounts of power. i would daresay there would be more issues with pulse tooooning as well, but i can't give an informed answer on that one.

in short, no, it would be bad whichever way you look at it.
