mine does that too....mostly in low speeds. i just start in 1st and then it would sputter and jerk like it wasn't getting any gas or something and then it was ok. It only happened for about 1 second but it's been happening for long time

also when the gas station is almost out of gas. i think they are almost out when the pump pumps real slow. i know in b-more at my fav gas spot they have 1/2 off thursdays and the gas pumps really slow if you go there in the evenings.

Duh, I should have mentioned this earlier.

In pitch blackness with the hood open have someone rev the engine up and down while you watch the coil packs. If you see blue sparks the coil packs are the culprit.

My car did this to me one time (consequently coming back from the shore) and I barely made it over the bridge @ 45mph full throttle.

I pulled over, shi the car off, took a sniff around the engine compartment... started it back up and drove home. Never had a p[roblem with it since.

This definately sounds like an igntion problem in my opinion.

well i took my car to the WONDERFUL Hyundai Dealer and they told me nothing was wrong with my car, even though last night it did it sooooo bad it jerked my head back into the seat, so now what guys?

There were was no CEL for any of the times your car has done this?

The dealer should have been able to pull the CEL code out of the ECU, and diagnose the problem.

If you are not getting a CEL, how "reproducable" is the problem? Can you MAKE the car do this, or does it just happen once and a while?

Has there been a CEL yet? Can you reproduce it at will? How often does it happen? Does it get worse or better with the AC on/off?
