Do the 1.8 and 2.0 betas have the same horsepower?
If they do what made the 1.8's have the same as the 2.0 even though its a smaller displacement? It cant just be the 1.8 cam that everyone puts in their 2.0's because that just adds a few horses. Nothing major.

according to wikipedia
1.8 = 130 HP 2.0 Beta I = 140 HP 2.0 Beta II = 138 HP w/ slightly more torque so a tentative answer is no, they do not put out the same hp |
2hp was removed from the Beta I in a SAE horsepower controversy. It is now stated to have 138hp.
The 1.8L intake cam is an upgrade to be used on the 2.0L for an extra 4 degrees of duration. |
^what he said! this was done on the F2EVO in England, as well as a few emissions tweaks for an output of 154hp.
