I just noticed today...that that has happen to mine for the last two time i've opened my hood. And I fell that my engine bay is REALLY too hot. But the temp gauge run's in the middle. Related issues? Might an upgraded fuel pump be in my future?

 

It is probably because you have aftermarket header without heat protection.

 

my dodge neon used to do that.... but that car was a POS... i blew the head gaskey 3x in 3 months on a stock car...
