Could be an injector. Better bet would be wires though. Maybe do a fuel filter also if you havent.

It's got to be an injector. The injectors are what cause single cylendar misfire codes. a single cylendar misfire is detected when the ECU does not see a high followed by a dog-ear pulse when the inductor deenergizes. Basically, an injector is all it could be because we have a wasted spark system and a plug wire would cause 2 cylendars to go out.

Ehh I dont think so. It would only effect one cylinder. The other cylinder it fires with could have a fine wire and work great. Could also be a spark plug

well just to be safe im gonna change my plugs, wires, and injectors and fuel filter because honestly.... that stuff hasnt been changed in the 20 000km i have put on the car since i bought it 3 years ago. and im also thinkin of doin a clutch and flywheel upgrade while im at it. but im not liking the lag i have with the misfire.... its alright after 3000 rpm... the idle is strong and the first 2000 rpm is a little boggy!

No. It's a wasted spark system. On a wasted spark system the spark travels from ground to spark plug, to spark plug wire, through the coil, to another spark plug wire to another spark plug and back to ground again. It would be quite impossible for there to be a problem with just 1 cylendar if there was an electrical problem with a spark plug wire. Any electrical problem with a wire or a coil will take out 2 spark plugs.

Don't just change out the spark wires. Check them with a multimeter first and get the readings. Spark plug wires should be less then 10,000 ohms per foot. I have not found a spark plug wire that matches the stock quality.

Change the spark plug first. Then check the injector.

Do you have a DTC# for that CEL?

That's not a fault code. It's an additional code. Any other hard fault codes?

how long since plugs and wires? If it's been more than 30k do that first. Get some electrical connector cleaner and clean up the inside of the coil packs as well if there is any corrosion in there.

dtns been smoking something. It's definently possible to have a fault on only one cylinder, I have before, why else would it even bother telling you the cylinder if it had no way of knowing. Might as well just start poping up codes for "stuffs screwed up".

He always is, lol.

And that is a code. There isnt a code for the injector or anything. At least not a global code that anyone can see. I mean even most circuit monitors we cant see without using the Hyundai scan tool.
