Custom Exhaust and Emissions....
I live in PA, and I'm most likely going to get a custom exhaust or a cat-back that actually fits to the headers [any suggestions?] My Question is... if its custom with a dynomax muffler, would it pass emissions tests? If not, how would I get it too?
I live in Pa also about an hour away from you. I have no cat and a pacesetter cat back exhaust and will soon have the 4-2-1 racing headers. Your car will pass a reagular inspect without a problem cause they don't check for those things but it will fail the emmisions test but don't worry Pa doesn't inspect emmissons as of yet and do not plan on doind so except high populated areas i.e. Philly, Pittsburg etc.. so don't worry about it you won't be tested especially because the cars that are going to be tested are going to be done by vin numbers of cars that are 10 years or older cause the figure the newer cars they have nothing to worry about because of all the work done to them to keep them emmision leagal. My bri=other in law does state inspections and asked him about this before I got rid of my cat and he said I will be fine but if your worried get a cat from the junk yard to keep on hand just incase. If you are just going to put a cat back on you will be fine period. If you put headers on you will fail as soon as they see them so keep your manifold because headers in Pa are illegal period. Hope this all helps you and all my info is coming from a reliable sorce although I can't stand him cause he is a in-law lol. But at least this in-law serves a pupose. Good luck with your mods. If you have anymore questions let me know and I will find out from him about them.
