anyone know how many teeth are on the crank of a 2.0 beta motor??
and if any are missing, how many??
I need this info ASAP, anyone that could hook me up, i would really appreciate it.

Trying to tune my SMT-5, but i need that info in order to get the correct number readings from the system. eek!

I think he is refering to the crank position sensor, and how many teeth on the wheel and how many teeth are missing.

I've got that data around here somewhere, but off the top of my head, I can't remember.

60 -2 came to mind when you asked. I'm with Cheuk. Oh yeah, almost forgot. Please let us know how the SMT5 works for you. I have been thinking about one for a while now.

Hey Shark, did it come with a plugin wiring harness? Or did you have to hard wire it in?

Sorry to hurt your feelings, BUT...

The Hyundai BETA motor DOES use a Motronic 60-2 "missing tooth" crank trigger. That means there's 58 teeth and then a space where two more would normally go -- the space is the home trigger.

TDC on cylinder one is at the 7th tooth in.

I know this, because it's required information for setting up a Haltech standalone system. There's no ifs, ands or buts about it.

If the SMT cannot do direct fire from a Motronic-style crank trigger (as SCCA called it: missing teeth trigger) then you're SOL. Send the SMT back to whom you purchased it from.
