Crank Sizes?
Does anyone know the crank sizes for the 98 rd beta and also for the XD beta? I'm not sure of the exact year of the XD, but I'm trying to sell the motor and the buyer wants to know the crank size for his turbo build.

You mean like pin diameters and stroke?
Everything you need is here: http://www.hmaservice.com/
Those are FACTORY sizes. Now if he's buying a used crank, perhaps he's wanting you to mic the pins to determine if they need oversizing.

If the question is 38/40mm (or is it 41?) then unless the crank came out of a 1.8L it is the larger size. When Hyundai went from 1.8L to 2L (1999?) they enlarged one part of the snout protruding from the mounting flange on the end of the crank.
If that's not what they want to know, then either or both of you is not asking the right question.

It was Viper (who used to roam these parts), he is building a motor for someone, so I figure he knows what he needs.
Sidenote: I thought you could swap the 1.8l crank into the 2.0l block??

Sure. Then you have extremely low compression, or you use tall pistons and/or longer rods. WAY back in the day, Red and (?) Random were wondering if this would make a perfect basis for a high-RPM screamer, with the resultant (?) 1.7 rod/stroke ratio (or something like that). I forget what became of the idea.

random decided to not release the info in fears that it would cause people to blow up their motors
original plan was to rev it to 10000 RPMs, he had the calculations and knew exactly what he needed....just got bored with hyundais
