Default crank pulley

Hey guys, I am trying to get the crank pulley off. Keeps spinning on me. Do I need to rent a puller from autozone? I wedged a screw driver in there but was a no go. Its on there really good and wasn't sure if a pulley puller will help. thanks.

That is a really awesome idea. I'll have to keep that in mind next time or on my next car. My only problem is my car is pretty much ripped apart, battery, starter, alternator, lol everythings outta it. So basically, there are no special tools.. just need pure brute to muscle it off? I have a buddy who is much larger than me. I'll have to give him a call. ha ha great DIY link though. I like it

Thanks Man

I just pulled the crank pully off the other day and once the crank pully bolt was removed it came off with little effort by hand. This was on a beta 2 motor so im sure its the same.

did you have to jam a screw driver in or something? I cannot get mine off. It just keeps spinning on me. Can't seem to find anything to wedge in there to keep it from moving.

well tomorrow, I'm going to buy some cans of mapp gas and heat the sh*t out of it. Maybe that'll work. Pretty sure its not a reverse thread is it? just the standard righty tighty left loosey? I assume..

i've always used the method provided in the walktrhough, i don't know how you would do it if it's not able to be done that way. thick screw driver and an air wrench?

here'e whats gonna happen today if the heat doesn't work. My starter is off right now, I'll try to wedge something in the flywheel like a block of wood or somthing to block the engine off from moving while cranking on that damn bolt.. If that doesnt work, Ill have to hook the starter back up, alternator, put battery back in.. and use the starter to get it out.
