I just took the heat shield off my car, only to discover that I have a cracked exhaust manifold. I did some research, and apparently the recall is only for 99-01 Tiburons. But then I checked on Webtech, and according to the information there, the exhaust manifolds are exactly the same for 97-00? As I understand it, the 01 has a one-piece manifold/cat combo, and the others are two piece. Could someone please shed some light on why I am not eligible for the recall if the exhaust manifolds are the same for half the cars listed in the recall?
Thanks in advance.

@Teflon: Thanks, but I don't think I am going to replace it unless it's free, which is why the recall would work nicely smile.gif I've driven with the cracked manifold for who knows how long, and it really doesn't bother me all that much. Again, thanks for the offer.
So basically what everyone else is saying is that Webtech is wrong, and even though it says that 2000s have the two-piece manifold/cat, they infact have the 1 piece manifold?
The crack on my manifold is fairly large, it basically goes all the way around the collector by the 2nd runner. Actually, now that I think of it...I have a CEL that I can't get rid of regarding my first O2 sensor, could this be the reason? Is the sensor expecting more air then it is receiving due to some leaking out through the crack?

Cambridge, eh? Small world. I live there too laugh.gif I'll gladly take it if it will be a direct (or near direct) swap from the other style of manifold which I have. Hopefulyl someone can answer this and let me know. You rule, Teflon! smile.gif

I've got a 97 with the same cracks and it's not covered.
BTW, get the damned thing replaced, your o2 sensor won't work right with the crack and will eventually go bad, costing you more money.
