cold air intake hardwre prob plz help

there is a fork looking clip attached onto the cold air intake i bought, looks like it fastens onto something maybe into the engine bay to brace it better..

cold air intake is in and everythings fine, but, what is this used for anyways? i've just wondered what it was for i still don't use it and never have

depends on what one you have.. the one on the AEM had a little rubber bushing and a long bolt also.. It mounted to the inside of the fender if i recall to help keep it from moving.

Yup. What he said. Long bolt, thick rubber bushing, there's a hole in the proper place for it to fit.

well it is from L3 racing on eBay,like is it to mount it to the car frame or not??

its a 40.00 CAI

bigfishmoney 10-09-2012 09:39 AM

ah yeh well i found this and wondered about it when i found a few gashes in my air CAI that poked in a hole in it

majik 10-09-2012 09:48 AM

Yes, it mounts to the frame. Did you look to see where it would line up? Is it installed yet? Show us a picture of the intake

Does it look like this?

Bolting it in that location will keep it from bouncing and hitting the wheel. It bolts inside the wheel well, to the frame.

Top one, kinda.

ummm....L3's CAI

i do not know where it would fit up

bigfishmoney 10-09-2012 10:08 AM

1 Hour? Thanks for giving us time to help.

make sure your MAF goes between the two pipes. Just install it and see where it falls. Get a long bolt, make sure it fits in the hole, and get a rubber bumper similar to this
