Clutch Is Going, Questions On New Clutch.
#1
Whats goin on guys, i haven't posted in a while but i got a question for ya. I've noticed that my clutch has slowly been getting worse and im going to need a new one soon. What im wondering is if its cool for me to get a new stock clutch from hyundai or no? Currently i have a CAI , header , and exaust. I plan on getting a airram and new TB and safc-2 sometime in the future. With my current mods im guessing the stock clutch should be find but i just want to make sure. thanks

Yes, a stock clutch will be fine.
PM Mad_john and see the price of a new stock clutch he can get for ya. It's OEM straight from Korea.
You also have some aftermarket choices aswell. You can find good prices too since you don't need a high power rated Aftermarket clutch.

Stock clutch will hold just about all NA mods. I'd buy it from Mad_John or ebay. The ones on ebay are OEM and sub-$100. A hyundai dealership will likely rape you on price. Also, check if the clutch kit comes with a throwout bearing (I don't think it does), if not buy a new one.
If you want less rotating mass + faster revving, you may be interested in a lightweight flywheel while your down changing the clutch. Fidanza or VHR have been used pretty often with no complaint. They should run around $300-400.

Yeah 700-800 is BS. It should cost around 300-400 (labor only) to install at the dealer. I forgot to add, you'll need new transmission fluid, so get some Redline MT90 (~$30 for 4 qrts) or whatever other fluid you prefer. If you're not getting a new flywheel, have your current one resurfaced also (~$30).

if you tell them your clutch release fork lever is squeeking and you're under warranty, they'll replace the clutch for price of parts + about $40 for labor smile.gif
I replaced with a stocker. I would upgrade to stage 2. I'm rough on my vehical though.
