Default Cleaning up the head. . .

Okay, I was at the car show the other day and thing girl ways taking some pics of here car, and someone she was with is like we already have pics of that and the motor is dirty. . . After spending about 45minutes just cleaning the motor before going to the show you must understand how much of a pain these white spots are.

Well I want the white spots gone, zep was recommended but hard to get. Anyone else have any suggestions? Thanks

I use something called Super clean. It works well for me. Just don’t let it sit on the alum too long it will take away the shine.

CLR mixed with water might do the trick too.

i was thinking the same thing as whiplash. My brother used it to get rid of rust so maybe it will get rid of corrosion stains.

I used "Simple Green Heavy Duty BBQ Cleaner" on my engine bay and head and it made it shine really nice but I only had to remove gunk and oil build up. I don't think it will actually remove your corrosion stains. You could also try painting it with VHT Engine Paint or any paint that can handle the heat.

I've never tried super clean but it sounds alright. Walmart has CLR for sure.

Try it on a small spot that can't be seen by judges.

okay i watered it down and didn't do much then I made it a little stronger, and it makes a different, but not sure if it will look good with doing that much of it. . .

Do you think that the super clean would work? Would it actually remove the spots?

Thanks guys

It's going to have to do one of two things. Either destroy the corrosion chemically through the use of reactive chemicals or physically remove it abrasively. Those are the only two ways to get rid of aluminum corrosion.
