/\ which costs money, 90 bucks if i remember correctly.

The chromoly can be resurfaced, much cheaper.

thats the right price, but still wrong. its 90, and they send you two surfaces. (which believe me, is nice)

and i really dont think theres a such thing as too light (unless its unsafe light as in too thin, and might break) i own 4 cars currectly, and every one has a fidanza, even my winter beater. ive absolutely fallen in love with them, and put them in every car i own now.

1997tibby,

any feedback(s) on this yet?

also, how was the seller ?

The seller was GREAT, ONE BIG PROBLEM THOUGH!!!!! the flywheel is for a 35mm crank, and i have a 41mm crank.....so i called the guy and he only sells the 35mm crank one, so hes re-imbursing me and i'm sending the flywheel back.... fing02.gif

owned.gif ENDS UP THAT I BOUGHT A $330 FIDANZA ANYWAYS!!!!! owned.gif

any machine shop can bore out the center hole from a 35mm hole, to a 41mm hole. usually runs about 20 bux.

^^^^^^^^^^^^ I'm sure a machine shop could! my uncle owns a machine shop..but the clearance from the flywheel bolt holes are really close and i'm not willing to experiment with the flywheel...I bought a fidanza and thats what it came down too....cars been in the garage up on jacks with the tranny out for a little over a week already, just wanna get it back together.

if i remember correctly Hyundai makes a adapter that will go from the 41mm crank down to the 35mm...

it could be the other way around but i think its the larger to smaller....

oh well at least you went with a fidanza

different motors have different flywheels

there are 2 choices of cranks which require 2 flywheels...

i believe the 1.8 had a 35mm crank and the 2.0 had a 41 if i remember correctly

Im not sure what years that the crank size is different, but my car is a 2001 and it fit perfect, no need to alter anything.

If you have questions you could contact the people who make the flywheel and see which size it will fit or the ebay seller and ask if they guarentee it to fit.

~EDIT~ I just saw faiths post, so JAY-M you should be fine since you have an RD2 like me...

Quote from HMA Service is below that explains the crank/flywheel issue:

Several component changes have been made that apply to the 1.8L and 2.0L engines used in the 1996 - 2000 Elantra and Tiburon. These changes involve the following parts:

Crankshaft
Flywheel and Flex Plate and Mounting Parts
service information:
CRANKSHAFT

The new crankshafts
(P/N 23110-23710 for the 2.0L); P/N 23110-23510 for the 1.8L) released July 8, 1999 have the following dimensional changes.

A. The flywheel mounting flange (pilot) diameter has been reduced from 41 mm to 35 mm.

B. The flywheel mounting flange (pilot) height has been increased from 4 mm to 6.5 mm.

C. The crankshaft rear flange thickness has been reduced from 20.5 mm to 18 mm.

D. The crankshaft rear flange bolt hole depth has been reduced from 15 mm (± 1.5mm) to 12.5 mm (± 1.5 mm).

NOTE
The new crankshafts are not interchangable
with the previous ones. However, a crankshaft spacer (P/N 23112-23900) can be attached to the new crankshafts to make them interchangeable
with the older crankshafts.
