I have an intermittent (sp) CEL that I got scanned at autozone today and I found out that it is an #1 O2 sensor malfunction. I know that this is the o2 sensor in the exhaust manifold, and I know how to get a new one/replace one, but my real question is...I am still under warranty. Is this a warranty item? On a related note, what causes these? Is it anything that I could be preventing or is it just a case of a sensor going bad?

this is an RD2? And how many miles do you have it under the warranty?

yes, you can get this replaced free of charge with the warranty, however, hyundai is really bad at warranties. sometimes they will repair or replace things and sometimes they won't. so good luck.

what could have caused the CEL to go off in the sensor? hmm... it might not even be the sensor.

just take it to the dealership and have them fix whatever it is. take full advantage and fight for your warranty. anybody else know anything more on this?
