Cats
A long long time ago, I remember Red talking about a specific brand of Cat converter that was really good, and if I remember right it wasn't a big name company, IE magnaflow, flowmaster etc...
Anyone remember?

The BEST BANG for your buck cat would be a carsound High flow cat by magnaflow. It is pretty cheap and has some good gains.
The best hi flow cats on the market would be the RANDOM Technology high flow Cats. They flow 502 cfm which is the most out their for a cat,but like i said the carsound is around $80US and does the trick

does it matter which type of carsound cat?..because i was going to pick one up off ebay but then it said if you want the 53 series (honda, toyota) stuff like that add 5 bucks?
The one that you need are the universal fit.Depending your exhaust size you have to match it up with the cat you decide to purchase. So if you have a 2.25 inch exhaust, purchase a 2.25 inch IN and OUT cat! smile.gif smile.gif

there is no bolt-on replacement CAT for our cars. Eclipses, civics etc. Yes. Tiburons, no. Our CAT is welded to and CANNOT be removed from our exhaust manifold. So the only way you can get away from our stock cat, is
1.get headers and aftermarket cat.
2.get headers and say screwit to the cat.
either way requires welding. All the custom catback setups for our cars are made for the stock headers, and last time i checked the korean headers we were getting are too short for the fit. So welding a CAT between the two would be a good idea.
anyway, thats my rant. Oh, carsounds rock, i ran one for over a year, and i noticed no real performance difference from using a cat on a 4-1, 2.5"(MBRP catback), and same setup without the cat. So it does a pretty good job.
One note tho, make SURE you get the right size fittings, it'll be easier and you'll have less problems. I used a 3" in/out carsound and had to ghettorig it with some welding tricks :-P.
anyway, good luck.
