Default CaT_back

Stopped at Midas today..they want $175.00-190.00 just to install new 2.5 piping. and will not install any headers though. that seems a bit high to me..any thoughts? There is one performace shop around here that might do it but htere asses. When I first started with my CAI ideas..i bought a off the shelf K&N cone..and changed my mind of the application..and he tried/DID charged me 15% restock fee. Cuz it was ordered. NOT BY ME but by someone else..so it's charging restocking fee. I contacted the BBB....to complain. And since he was in the wrong..and didnt have an such sign posted..well, i could of gotten the 15% back..but wasnt worth the time/lunch break to go get it. So one the norm, how much $$$ for NEW 2.5"? Also, it would be wise to wait until i can find a shop to do the 2.5" and the 4-2-1 at the same time correct? As if i didnt they would have to customize the 2.5" again once a shop goes to install the headers..am i on the correct path here???

Damn...that's alot of money. I paid $80 for my cat back at Monroe Muffler. 2.25" piping, and install for that price. When I get the headers, the told me to come back and for $150, they'll install new 2.5" piping, and the headers.

Midas' corprate pricing structure almost always will be higher than most. Find a no name local shop with a good reputation. Stay away from the big chain stores. You'll ususally get better service and you actually get to talk to the owner. Building a good reputation with their customers is the only wayt that small shop owners can make it. Shop around.
