Default Cat questions

Can someone tell me if the cats on a 2000 Tib are welded to the exhaust pipe or is there a flange? Also where are the 2 O2 sensors located? I am looking at getting a pipe made so that I can drop out my cat but still be able to bolt it back in for service or warranty.

I will be trying to remove my heat sheild to look but it is rather cold outside.

Thanks in advance.

I think the perfect fit cath is like the Accent. It comes with a flange for direct bolt on. I just installed a Vibrant universal cath last week. I made the pipe and the flange myself. It took 5 hours but I saved 200.00. If you get a direct fit check the flange diameter. If it`s too small, you`ll have a hard time to fit it on a 2.25`` exhaust pipe.

Most Canuck cars come with a welded cat up front under that heat shield , the rear piece ( flex pipe ) can be removed but the cat and manifold are 1 in most cases. Removing the cat won't help near as much as all good tubing cat back 2.25" . Also it's so illegal not to have a CAT in most of Canada, get caught and your looking at a $2000 ticket.
